Parenting and Family Support

In the context of the family each child learns how to communicate, express caring, solve problems and work together to succeed in life. Our strength based parenting programs are focused on all the significant adults in a child's life and those who care for children. We realize that both professionals and parents have knowledge, expertise, experience and resources that are needed to build and maintain healthy families. We structure our programs so that each person walks away with new connections and resources that fit their unique interests.

Join us for our Drop in Parenting Group that meets once a week for an hour to work together and find solutions to common parenting and caregiving concerns. We also offer a variety of parent support groups. Childcare and translation services are provided upon request.

In addition, NCCDI plans a variety of family friendly events, such as: the Literacy Breakfast, Winter Family Activity Night, Sports Night, the annual snow day, fishing trips, and the Parent Education Workshops. We are also trained facilitators of the Nurturing Parenting Program and regularly offer parenting classes free of charge and as a fee based service to other agencies.
