Purpose
The NCCDI Policy Council Community Development Fund Scholarship program purpose is to recognize the alumni of Head Start in academic achievement and school and community involvement. Our goal is to encourage high school seniors to pursue post secondary education in a public or non-public college, university, or technical school.
The scholarships range from $250-$500 depending on the number of accepted applications.
This is a competitive scholarship.

Eligibility
Applicants must be high school graduates that are alumni of a Head Start or Early Head Start program, who intend to enroll in post secondary institution, which may be a public or non-public university, college, or technical school. Applicants must be able to provide information regarding the location and year of the HS/EHS program they attended as a preschool child.

Scoring
The NCCDI Policy Council Community Development fund application scoring system uses a point system for each of the following criteria:

- application (10 points possible)
- academic achievement (10 points possible)
- school and community involvement (10 points possible)
- overall written essay (20 points possible)
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated on their application, academic achievement, school and community involvement, and written essay.

- personal goals

Application Process
Each student must:

- Complete a NCCDI Policy Council Community Development Fund Scholarship application (contact your school counselor for an application)
- Have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (provide unofficial transcripts)
- Submit a written essay
- Provide a current photo and a photo of your Head Start/Early Head Start experience
- Once enrolled, provide evidence of enrollment at an institute of higher learning.
